Task Twelve

I have been doing reseach of Mcfly who i will use for double page spread.

i used the official mcfly website, along with the the myspace website. Using this has provided the background infromation i needed. This will give me enough to write a double page spread on Mcfly. The Programes i have collected from previous concerts and appearance. Listesning to the albums to have got an idea of the music.

This is the first draft of my first few paragraphs
Mcfly are known for their creativity, but I wanted to know what was it that made them a success. What was it that the fans couldn’t get enough of? Was it Danny’s pranks, Harry’s sarcasm, Tom’s creativity, or even Dougie’s looks? Something about them made them one of Britain’s best boy bands in the 21st century. I went straight to the source: the fans as well as examining the success so far. I wanted to find out just exactly what it was that made Mcfly the success they are today.

In 2004 Mcfly stormed the charts with the debut single “Five colours in her hair”. It went straight to number one, which started this whole frenzy. The follow up single “Obviously” was just as successful. They quickly became Britain’s most wanted boy band, girls everywhere knew their name. The debut album hit success as soon as it hit shelves in shops. It went straight in at number one making history. Mcfly currently have the record for youngest boy band to have an album go straight to number one, they took this record off the Beatles. Since then they have had four hit albums, as well as raising millions for charity. They have succeeded in this and more in just under five years, but that still doesn’t answer our question. What makes Mcfly so successful? Maybe looking at the band members will help…

The band is made up of four members, Tom Fletcher on guitar and vocals, Danny Jones also on guitar and vocals, Dougie Poynter bass and back up vocals and of course Harry Judd the drummer. Each of these play a vital roll in the Band, without Tom, they wouldn’t exist. Tom originally auditioned for Busted but didn’t make the cut; he then went out and put ads in magazines such as NME. Danny Jones was next after auditioning for the band; he and Tom started working on writing songs. Using anything and everything they could for inspiration such as their accommodation which then became a number one single and a number one album called “Room on the third floor”. Dougie and Harry went to the same audition and both belonged to two different bands at the time.
